About The Band, "Flyer" was formed in 1981 and was managed and produced by Lou Pearlman who later went on to produce such bands as the Backstreet Boys, N' Sync, and O Town, just to name a few. "Flyer's" band members were: Willie Colon lead vocals, Jerry Blender lead vocals, Bobby D' Ambrosio bass guitar and vocals, Joe DePalo rhythm and lead guitar, Greg Guarino keyboards and vocals, Frank Sicoli lead guitar and vocals, Billy Onesios drums. The group wrote their own material and played their own instruments they also produced their own show in 1983 at "My Father's Place" in Roslyn, Long Island, New York, which with standing room only, received rave reviews. Willie, Joe, and Bobby, three of the original members of "Flyer" are still together today and have their own recording studio, they write, produce, and perform new material in the same vein that made "Flyer" popular for so many years.

Now Visionary Records would like you to meet Willie Colon of Flyer. Willie plays a multitude of instruments including guitar, bass, keyboard and percussion, it is his vocal abilities that set him apart from the rest. His expressive voice gives the term "blue-eyed soul" new meaning. In the early 70's, Willie played with the group "Free Flight" which quickly paid their musical dues and rose to international stardom when they became the band called "Bimbo Jet". Their Latin influenced disco song "El Bimbo" rose to #1 on the music charts. The song sold 12 1/2 million records worldwide, went gold and was featured in the movie "Police Academy". The band toured the United States and Canada, playing to sold-out-arenas. They received rave reviews after "Bimbo Jet". Willie joined the band "Catharsis" of which Joe was a member. The group played in the New York and tristate area club scene. Soon after Bobby joined the group and "Flyer" was born. Willie's interpretive vocals takes "Flyer's" songs to a level other vocalists can only hope to reach. With every soulful note he sings, he touches the senses and paints a picture in the mind's eye. Willie's creative abilities help produce the melodic hooks and orchestrations heard on many of the group's songs. While his Latin roots flavor the percussive arrangements the chemistry between these three members carries on through today and is evident in their music.

Now Visionary Records would like you to meet Bobby D'Ambrosio of Flyer. Bobby's musical career started at the age of 6 when he auditioned as "Elvis" on the Ed Sullivan Show. He was aptly named the first Elvis impersonator. In his early teens he was extremely motivated and quickly excelled at playing lead guitar and keyboard, but focused in on bass guitar as his outlet for musical expression. His musical ability came naturally and without any professional teachings. Being part of a band was a very important aspect of Bobby's life. His musical talent quickly surrounded him with top musicians. Bobby played in the group "Revolver" along with the guitarist Wayne Avers, who later became the guitarist for "The Monkees". Another one of Bobby's musical experiences was being a member of the "New Ohio Express" as lead vocalist. The "Ohio Express" started the 1960's "Bubble Gum" music craze with their hit "Yummy, Yummy Yummy". In his progressive music band "Apostle", he played bass guitar side by side with keyboardist Jordan Rudess, who is one of the music industry's top keyboard virtuosos. Jordan is currently in the group "Dream Theater". Throughout the years, Bobby continued to develop his song writing skills and wrote catchy tunes with memorable melodies. One such tune, "On Long Island" was in the running to become Long Island's official theme song. In the early 1980's, Bobby teamed up with Willie and Joe. Together, with a few other musicians and Lou Pearlman at the helm. They became "Flyer". His vocals and creative bass playing strengthened and rounded out the "Flyer" sound, but it is Bobby's extensive knowledge of the keyboard that creates the foundation for many of the band's melodic songs. Bobby's musical expressions emanate from his inner being and vibrant personality adding a special flair to "Flyer's" music and persona.

Now Visionary Records would like you to meet Joe DePalo of Flyer. Joe's style of guitar playing encompasses many different musical genres. Self-taught and driven, his rock and roll roots lay a strong foundation to many of the group's tracks. His ability to adapt to any style of music is a quality well put to use within the band's wide spectrum of songs. Joe played for many years with a top 40 group band called "Catharsis". The group played in the New York and tristate area club scene. Joe's song-writing abilities are just as diverse, creating tunes ranging from country to contemporary, Christian to rap, and everything in between. He searches deep within and borrows from life's experiences to create the heartfelt and sensitive lyrics in many of the group's songs. Lyrics that touch the heart and strike an emotional chord that so many can relate to. Joe's arranging talents also flavor many of Flyer's tunes. His ability to hear musical ideas in his head brings vibrant life to the tracks. Where others may hear a cymbal, he hears a gong; while others might lay down a violin track, he strives for a fully orchestrated arrangement. His creativity spurs on the other members of the group, bringing out their combined talents and taking the music to new heights.
